Anke Buchmann

Trainer

Anke Buchmann is an award-winning designer, workshop leader, creator of Clay Meditation, and founder of HANDFUL Ceramics. Her mission is to inspire people, through clay, to connect with themselves and tap into their inner resources and potential for a more sustainable life.

After two university degrees in Economics and Digital Communication, Anke worked as a User Experience Designer for agencies and Start-ups in Berlin, Stockholm and Paris. Here she worked hand in hand with the client to develop digital communication concepts and strategies. Her strength is problem-solving, empathy and interdisciplinary teamwork.

On the verge of burning out, Anke had to step aside after working 10 years in the fast paced world of communication and advertisement. Her need to connect to herself and her roots lead her to study Ceramic Design at one the world best art universities – Central Saint Martins in London, UK. Here she learned about the importance of a process-driven approach to creativity and problem-solving, and the impact of the material clay on our bodies, our mind and our ability to connect to others.

At the same time she explored meditation and somatic bodywork deeper and spent 10 days in silence, at a Buddhist center. Her daily mindfulness practice and creative reflections have lead her to designing fully immersive experiences with a lasting impact.
