"Leaders in agile settings do not need new leadership tools. They need a new mindset."

Overview

Agile work is no longer limited to software development. More and more organisations and teams are using agile work to bring products or services to market faster and at the same time continuously improve their own processes. Even in agile settings, managers cannot do without classic leadership tools. Nevertheless, the role is different because employees and teams act with more autonomy and self-organisation. More than ever before, managers are becoming facilitators, process enablers and coaches. For this they need, above all, the right attitude.

In our “Agile Leadership” basic training we provide the basic knowledge around agile work as well as an understanding of agile methods and the agile mindset that leaders in modern organisations need.

Who is this for?

For managers who want to get to know and apply the principles of agile leadership

For leaders who want to reflect on their mindset

For leaders who want to establish a positive error culture

Contents

Training goals and contents can be agreed on an individual basis. Here are some examples:

  • Understanding the role of leaders in an agile setting
  • Strengthening the personal responsibility and self-organisation of employees & teams
  • Scrum, Design Thinking, Kanban: Introduction to the basics of agile methods
  • The agile mindset: working with ambiguity, ambidexterity and a growth mindset
  • Successful, targeted, clear communication at eye level
  • Reflecting on your own communication and behaviour patterns and leadership style

Procedure

In the basic training “Agile Leadership” we focus on the further development of the managers’ “agile mindset”. They understand what it means to empower and support self-organised teams. Here we reflect on and promote participants’ tolerance of ambiguity – handling uncertainty and ambiguity positively – and teach them how to deal with mistakes in a helpful and contemporary way.
