The challenge
The KOSTAL Group is a globally active independent family business with its headquarters in Lüdenscheid, Germany, that develops and produces technologically sophisticated electronic and mechatronic products. More than 18,000 employees work at 46 locations in 21 countries. In doing so, it is always our aspiration that employees show themselves to be flexible, competent and customer-oriented.
For the KOSTAL Group, the promotion and further development of its own internal talent is a major concern. Therefore, the “Junior Development Centre” (JDC) was launched in 2019 with a firm focus on internal junior managers and their development. Prospective managers not only go through an internal development centre, but also receive targeted management training that is intended to make them fit for the challenges of their future management work.
For the trainings, KOSTAL sought a training provider who is particularly familiar with the challenges of young managers and is able to deliver helpful tools and techniques in a contemporary and experience-oriented way.

The result
Since 2019, the KOSTAL Group and yuii Business Training have been working together to develop a “Young Leadership Camp” for participants of the “Junior Development Centre”.
Participants work through a five-day training process tailored to the KOSTAL Group’s key competence areas, ending with individual feedback discussions for all participants.
In 2019, the camp was implemented on-site in Lüdenscheid, and in 2021, the entire camp took place online due to the COVID 19 pandemic.
